Tip#2: Teething help
Babies can be very fussy and irritable while teething. Some people say that its a old wives tale that children get fevers and diarrhea while teething. In my experience all of my kids got fevers and had diarhea.
I have tried many different thing to resolve my children's teething problems and each kid had different things that helped while they were teething. From teething rings or toys to frozen foods and also teething medicines they all work but which one works best for your child. Here are some of the things that worked for me.
Teething rings and toys.
While teething babies have a constant urge to chew on everything. Teething rings and toys are good. The best ones I have seen are rubber or plastic with gel in them with ridges and elevated designs. I wouldn't recommend putting these items in the freezer its actually too cold and causes the baby a burning sensation in the mouth.
Letting the baby chew on your finger is always the babies favorite, but your hands need to be clean when they do. Also after the first tooth it starts to hurt the parent so its a temporary resolution for when your is first teething around 4 to 6 months old.
When some of my kids where little we had a teething toy blanket it has a stuff animal on top holding a blanket at the bottom a rubber teether. My kids loved it in the car could chew the tether and cuddle the to the stuffed animaland fall to sleep. It was a life saver for car rides.
Frozen foods always help
Frozen foods are also good for the teething process the baby gets to chew while also getting some nutrition. The new baby feeders with the net on them are great for putting frozen fruits in for your baby to chew on.
I found that bananas and grapes are the best for teething. These fruit are the ones all of my children liked the best. Strawberries are good too! But many children are allergic to them. So be careful.
Popsicles are also a great way to give your baby that chewing sensation with the right amount of cold to give your baby relief. I found that the popsicles with out the stick are best. Such as otter pops or even pedialite pops. The pedialite pops also help if your baby is one who seems to have diarrhea with the teething.
Medicines the pros and cons Medicines are always great for relieving the pain. Baby Tylenol works great for the pain and fever that comes along with teething. I also have used Motrin they seem to be just as effective. Also generic or store brands save you money and they work great.
Numbing gel's such as origel work as a temp relief but only last an hour or two then back to putting more on. Also origel causes your gums to be tougher making it harder for the teeth to push through the gums.
The teething tablets worked great but they lasted about 3 to 5 hours. Gums didn't get tough. My babies seemed to like taking them. The ones I used had cherry flavor and where all natural. You can get them at any grocery store.
